During her childhood and then her life as a woman, plants always accompanied her, holding an important place.

Leaf baths, crunchy seeds and infusions, these are the basics of the medicine cabinet of his grandmother and great-grandmother, who only had to bend down to harvest these generous, almost magical plants from their lush garden.

“I remember long walks around my grandmother's property to eat the ripe seasonal fruit, find the right leaves and harvest the plants my grandmother asked for.

She treated our everyday ailments with comfrey, made us pound moringa seeds or shell peas, all while talking to us for hours about plants and all their benefits,” confides Maëva Solange Jacquet, founder of Douce.

It was while growing up that Maëva Solange Jacquet truly took ownership of all this knowledge, treasures passed down from generation to generation. Skin disorders, pain, hormonal changes, self-care...

In addition to Afro-Caribbean pharmacopoeia, she also turned to Chinese pharmacopoeia, particularly to treat her acne.

After her two pregnancies, she turned to decoctions, oils and supplements to promote hair growth and then to take care of it on a daily basis.

Finally, nothing is more effective for her than mixtures of oils or butters to protect the skin from the cold and tightness, avoid stretch marks or even massage her babies.

This is how Maëva Solange Jacquet imagined Douce. A range of treatments in the broadest sense, which contains the secrets passed down and discovered, with the vocation of being shared with all those who wish to appropriate them.
